this post reads:

At first,
One was counting days in prison, for the day he gets out.
One was counting his weapons and rockets and how many enemies he could kill.
One was counting his days in exile, for the day he returns to become president.
One was counting his moneys, hoping to multiply his dollars.

Now, they struck alliances and became...
One counting down to know the truth.
One counting how many days he's been in the street.

As for me... since, and because of them,
I'm counting my days abroad.

ba3id hal ghaibey el tawileh... it is a really sad post... Hope you are ok... I hate the world and the planes - specifically; I prefer donkeys - coz they are taking my family and friends away

I love how you can tell so much with your drawings.

[I don't want to sound picky, but I think there might be one line missing from your translation, under the "At first" heading. Something about counting money, judging from your illustration...]

i think my new strategy is to forget about home and accept life here and if i had the chance to go back one day, it'll be a nice surprise :)

very nice drawings and text _z.
esa mirvat is giving up on returning, we are doomed!
but i feel the wind of change is coming (again)... not that the outcome will be necessarily in our (lebanese) favor, but at least we can get out of this deadlock... i hope...

Sad but true, I feel your pain.
And I share your opinion and Gitane's: "we do need a clean beginning. I need to hear new family names in politics and in responsible positions. new names new educated ppl."

and the years keep on ticking don't they? you first left for 2 years... on a mission, to study or to do something in particular... then you look back and can't believe you've been away for so long.

I just got the impression that you knew me... well from your comment. nice "meeting you" though

thank you so much ladies. Indeed i think we all lost hope for the time being, even those who we thought would never even think of leaving, are now trying to look for another country to adopt them.

maya where do you see this wind of change. i don't see it anywhere.

it is very sad indeed. what I said to gitanes is my wish and I am sure the wish of many other Lebanese. how to get there.. this is the question. I find it very hard to acheive with the ruling mentality.

you're right. even if this generation comes back, they will be out of work, laughed at, and even mocked
