This snow business in mid-April is not exactly doing wonders for me and my ambition to move to Canada... Is snow at this time of year normal?!

No, not really, but winter started late this year, so its taking its time to leave. You can always opt for Toronto which is a bit milder and luckily these past few years have had the best winter with the least snow fall in the area, or Vancouver (BC) which they say is amazing.

You should though experience at least one season of snow, slush, freezing rain, temperature below 10 below zero ;)

did you know that 70% of crimes happen in suburbs and not in downtowns and urban places like everyone tends to think?

there is nothing to do... no one on the streets... if you want to buy a can of coke you have to drive your car... what is there to like?

Sketo yo, ahleh 3eyshin bi DDO. Alla ye7miyoun men el crimes. They seem to be ok so far.

Bass ya _Z, they have a Couche Tard close by and Sunnybrooke train station at a walking distance, 20 mins to downtown. And the SuperC mall at Des Sources and 40, and Adonis and Daou and B Sweet,... All this convenience only AFTER I got fed up and left LOL

As for cookie cutter, come see the new suburbs of TorAno, tfooooooo, bi ghattetto 3al aleb. I should take pics and show you.

they have malls... big shopping malls... big boxes... as an urban designer, I am against anything big... they all should close down.

I am not saying that Montreal's suburbs are better than Toronto's.
I am against the suburbs as a concept, not a particular place. I have nothing against Dollard des Ormeaux. I am not comparing anything to any place... you know...

the idea is bad on many fronts... starting from the environment to the every day life of ppl...

c'est tout!

dude.. i so know it.. my dad's house was cleaned out.. they stole such crap.. who steals a cd collection anyway.. or even better - just half of it

i always loved skiing down the back of hyman to get to bois de liesse and always thought that between centenial plaza marche de l'ouest and fairview that i could find all answers to everything.. haha

hanging out with friends in basements.. driving downtown or up north.. going for walks around our burbs or cycling.. or spending summers by the pools.. loved it soooo much..
