My Old 4". [Do you Remember?]

Do you remember this old, unreliable, fragile little thing?

"A floppy disk is a data storage device that is composed of a disk of thin, flexible ("floppy") magnetic storage medium encased in a square or rectangular plastic shell. Floppy disks are read and written by a floppy disk drive or FDD, the latter initialism not to be confused with "fixed disk drive", which is an old IBM term for a hard disk drive."

Have you ever seen Amateur by Hal Hartley? (Not his best film by a long shot, incidentally; I much prefer Trust) It's got the best dialogue about floppy disks!

Sofia: This is what you call a floppy disk?
Edward: Yeah.
Sofia: But it's square.
Edward: Yeah, yeah I know, but they call them floppy disks.
Sofia: It's not floppy either. It's stiff.

you made me laugh RED!!!!
I have a Mac now and all is burned on either CD or DVD.
The next generation of memory devices is already in use ... non mechanical memory sticks.
Forget records, forget CD's - next time you buy a different version of Beethoven's 9th symphony it will be a tiny chip wrapped and sealed into some kind of hard plastic that is hard to open and hard to stuff into your pants.
If you steal it anyway, there will be an other chip included that will set off the alarm.
And the next novelty will be to have a "chip-player" permanently inserted into our skulls ... I like the gold plated version with a sparkling diamond on top ... :)))
